     RAAF MEN KILLED IN PLANE ACCIDENT
     Flying Officer Donald Terence Burrows, pilot instructor, of Springdale (NSW), and L AC Herbert Nelson Slapp, trainee dual pilot, of Merrylands (NSW) were killed when an aircraft crashed during training exercises in New South Wales.

     F-Officer Donald Terence Burrows (RAAF), of New Town, was killed in an aircraft accident in New South Wales on Friday.
     Only son of Mr R. S. Burrows, of New Town, and the late Mrs Burrows, F-Officer Burrows was 22 years of age. He was educated at the Hobart High School and enlisted in the RAAF in November, 1940.
     He commenced his training at Somers (V), and obtained his wings at Pt. Cook the following year. For the past 18 months he had been a flying instructor in New South Wales. In May last he married Sister Joyce Preston, of Springdale (NSW).
     F-Officer Burrows before enlistment was with the Transport Commission, Hobart. A sister is Mrs E. Gunn, of Hobart.

     FUNERAL
     The funerals of L.A.C. Herbert Nelson Slapp and F/O. Donald Terence Burrows, of the RA.A.F., who were
killed in an accident in Southern N.S.W. last Friday morning, took place on Sunday afternoon. The cortege moved from St. John's Church of England, Wagga, at 2.30 p.m. after a service conducted by the Rev. Chaplain H. Pyke.      ...Interment took place in the war cemetery, Wagga, where Chaplain Pyke again officiated.
     Relatives of ... F/O. Burrows present were the bereaved wife, Mr. and Mrs. Preston (mother-in-law and father-in-law) and Miss (?) Grace Preston (sister-in-law).
     The bearers in charge of Flt. Sgt. Williams marched a slow march from the church to the Town Hall and again at the cemetery. Officers and instructors of the R.A.A.F. present were the Commanding Officer (Wing Commander Curnow), ...
     At the cemetery the Last Post was sounded. Amongst the tributes were wreaths from the Commanding Officer and Officers of No. 5 S.F.T.S., Airmen and Airwomen of No. 5 S.F.T.S., Instructors of No. 5 S.F.T.S.; Commanding Officer, Officers, Airmen and Airwomen of No. 10 E.F.T.S.; President and Members of the Sergeants' Mess No. 10 E.F.T.S., and the Nursing Staff of the Temora District Hospital. ...
